That was a good game, but a tough finish. The Spartans stormed back from 17 points to take the lead late in the second half against Purdue on Tuesday night, but the Spartans couldn't end it in overtime and fell 81-82. Just like Matt Costello predicted, it was a physical game with lots of bodies on the floor, slamming into each other and elbows in ribs. Usually, games like that equal wins for Tom Izzo and the Spartans as that's the way they like to play, but Purdue has very capable big men that matched the physical Spartans. In overtime, Deyonta Davis, and Gavin Schilling both fouled out leaving Kenny Goins and Matt Costello to guard the post. Denzel Valentine did all he could for the Spartans, but in the end, the Boilermakers take this one, beating the Spartans for the first time in seven tries.
