Providing commentary for the Spartan Sports Network is the venerable Gus Ganakas. 2012-13 marks his 27th season as an analyst for MSU Basketball broadcasts. 

Ganakas retired from MIchigan State in 2000 after 36 years of service to the University. Gus was the head coach of the Spartan program form 1969-70 though 1975-76 after serving as an assistant under John Benington. From 1976-98, he served as assistant athletics director. From 1998-2000, Ganakas served as a special assistant to head coach Tom Izzo, directing the activities surrounding MSU Basketball’s Centennial in 1998-99.
