Former Spartan winger, Rob Woodward begins his 12th season as analyst for Spartan Hockey broadcasts, and Co-Host of the weekly "Tom Anastos Show". He spent six seasons (2005-2011) as the Spartans volunteer assistant coach. Before that, Rob spent five seasons (2000-2005) as the head coach of Lansing Catholic Central High School where he compiled a 71-51-15 overall record. During his final two seasons, the Cougars recorded a 25-5-2 conference mark and in 2004 captured the conference title for the first time in 27 years. He was voted the Lansing State Journal 'Coach of the Year' twice and chosen as their 2000s 'Coach of the Decade'. Rob also served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Young Americans from 1995-98 and again in 2000. He was a left winger for MSU from 1989-93 and appeared in 155 games, closing his collegiate career with 48 goals and 47 assists for 95 points and 170 penalty minutes. He earned his degree in Geography from MSU in 2000. Following his Spartan career, Woodward skated for the American Hockey League Hamilton Canucks. He is currently a Regional Sales Manager for Compression Therapy Services of East Lansing.
